RadialTruing Radial
truing corrects the vertical hop in a wheel
leaving a perfectly circular structure. Vertical
hop
occurs when the rim is not centered about the
hub. Wheels that have large runout may introduce
significant radial force variations contributing
to vibration and unstable steering. Most
alloy wheels have a slight localized hop near
the weld joint. This is caused by the
manufacturing process, and does not generally
cause significant
radial force variations.
