Lateral Truing
Lateral truing
aligns the wheel for side-to-side wobble
to avoid contact with the brake pads during
wheel rotation. Wheels that are
laterally true are not necessarily tensioned
correctly. It is common for machine
built wheels that appear perfectly straight
to have large spoke tension variations. These
wheels typically exhibit characteristics
of poor durability, often braking spokes
and easily running out of true.
