Zipp Hub Timeline
Zipp hubs have changed over the last decade and we want to make certain you have a great fitting cover, so it's important that we know what kind of hub is in your Zipp factory-built wheel. We've borrowed most of this material from Zipp's Product Identity Hub Timeline.Zipp 188 (2009-present)
A completely new design, these hubs have a smooth polished 57mm diameter non-drive side hub flange. The end caps are blue/smoke or red; the end caps on Shimano hubs changed from smoke to red in November 2009. Wheel lacing is 2x drive and radial non-drive spoke pattern. |

Zipp 182 (2006-2008)
These hubs are distinguished from the 202 model by brightly colored free hub bodies (Shimano red, Campagnolo blue), a plastic retaining ring behind the carbon hub caps and an increase in the non-drive flange dimensions (52mm). |

Zipp 202 (2002-2005)
These hubs have alloy silver polished hub bodies, and are recognized by the smaller hub flange diameter and carbon weave protective end cap. |
