	The 2009 Zipp 303 tubular rim (Zipp 285) was re-engineered with the goal of
reaching the podium in the spring classics (3rd place ’09 Paris
Roubaix), and be versatile enough to ride everywhere. The rim was
widened from 22.3mm to 27.5mm and is now 45 mm deep. The radical
new shape increases stiffness and ride quality, yet reportedly yields 60 seconds
of aerodynamic savings over 40km. An all-round performer, the 303 is
ideal for criteriums, climbing, road racing and triathlon
applications.




Zipp’s 303 tubular wheelsets can be ridden  in a wide variety of wind
and road conditions. The wider, deeper rim increases the wheel’s
lateral stiffness for sprinting, cornering, and accelerations. 



The tire bed was redesigned to protect against tire damage and pinch
flats at low pressure and for more precise tubular mounting. In poor
weather, riders will appreciate the improved brake modulation of the
new angled brake track. These upgrades also make the 303 an excellent
choice for cyclocross.


 


For great performance in cross-wind conditions, mix a 303 front wheel with a Zipp 404 (or deeper) rear for improved aerodynamics.  The 303 is also a popular front aero rim choice for smaller/lighter riders who find
deeper rims difficult to control under exceptionally windy conditions.
Multisport athletes looking for a great wheel for draft-legal or
technical courses will love the performance of the 303.



Also available for cyclocross in a 24F/24R 1,209g configuration.



Wider tires, like the new 23mm version of Zipp’s dimpled Tangente tire, have minimal impact on the wheel’s aerodynamics.
