Zipp's wind tunnel tests confirm the 620's patented bulged rim shape and dimpling create the ultimate in wind-slicing aerodynamics. The 620 is an excellent rim choice for rolling courses and any time trial or triathlon where all-out maximum aerodynamics and speed are required.
Zipp's Carbon Bridge technology uses a Kevlar thread in a coaxial helix stitch to bind carbon sheets in their tubular rims. Because Kevlar is 350% more impact resistant than carbon, it can disperse shock more evenly throughout the carbon laminate. In particular, Carbon Bridge reduces the vulnerability of the rim's tire bed, the area most susceptible to damage from impact. The tire bed was redesigned to protect against tire damage and pinch flats at low pressure and for more precise tubular mounting.
