Wheelbuilder Track PowerTap Conversion

Wheelbuilder can convert your road hub into a track PowerTap. The Wheelbuilder-designed Track PowerTap conversion is now available for all wireless PowerTaps. The conversion is permanent and does not include a PowerTap hub.

The same engineer who designed the Saris CycleOps MTB PowerTap designed this conversion for fixed gear racing and training. Wheelbuilder's Track hub provides reliable wireless power data with CycleOps' +/- 1.5% PowerTap accuracy.

New Track PowerTap hubs and Track PowerTap wheels are available or Wheelbuilder can convert your current PowerTap road hub. Send us the whole wheel or just the hub and we'll do the conversion. The track conversion is available for all wireless versions of the PowerTap and is a permanent alteration. The Track PowerTap has the same warranty as all other PowerTap products and a track conversion does not void your existing warranty.

The Track PowerTap has an ultra stiff 17mm axle and is designed for use with White Industries' splined cogs, available in 1/8" or 3/32" width with 13-19T. Splined cogs are available at a discount when purchased with a new Track PowerTap or Track PowerTap conversion. Hub attaches to dropouts via high strength 8mm socket head cap screw axle bolts.

Your original CycleOps electronic accessories will continue to work after the conversion, i.e., your yellow CPU receiver, coded HR monitor and USB data download cradle, so there's no need to purchase any additional electronics.

To send a hub or wheel to Wheelbuilder for track conversion, please download and complete this form and return it with your hub or wheel. Road wheels will require re-dishing due to 120mm axle width. Re-dishing and truing service can be done at the same time as the conversion.
