The Reynolds Strike carbon clincher rim is Reynolds' most affordable 66mm model. The Strike is a world-class, yet reasonably priced carbon rim that's well suited to custom wheel builds for time trials, triathlon and all applications requiring superior aerodynamics. For 2011, Reynolds has improved the Strike's's carbon fiber layup composition and added their proprietary new CTg braking system to improve braking performance.
Reynolds' CTg (cryo + glass transition point) brake track is a patented, temperature-conductive resin for the brake track, molded in a protective fabric containment layer that actually removes heat from the rim. Reynolds rims have been tested to operate up to 100 degrees cooler than other carbon rims, which significantly reduces the potential of heat-induced rim failure for improved durability, smoother, safer and more confident braking.
