The PowerTap MTB Disc Brake Hub Only option is sold without the additional external electronic accessories that come with complete hub systems. This option is ideal if you already own a wireless PowerTap system and would like to purchase an additional wheel.
The carbon windowed alloy hub shell contains four sealed cartridge bearings for durability. Moisture is kept away from sensitive components, since the electronics are housed completely within the hub shell.
If you already have a PowerTap wireless system, you can use all of your electronics with the MTB Disc Brake hub i.e., the same CPU, heart rate strap and download cradle. Similarly, if you have an ANT+ Garmin, you can purchase the MTB Disc Brake Hub Only and use your GPS unit's electronics seamlessly with this PowerTap. All ANT+ PowerTaps work with Garmin's Edge 800, Edge 705, Edge 500 and Forerunner 310XT GPS units.
