The EX 500 is an all-purpose cross-country and freeride MTB rim designed for disc brake applications. This rim is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a MTB wheel that's well suited for all-around riding, training and racing applications.
We like building wheels with DT Swiss rims due to their extremely
consistent weld joint and overall roundness. These characteristics
allow us to build durable wheels with a high degree of precision and
low spoke tension variance.
The EX 500 rim is suitable for all disc brake MTB applications where durability is the primary consideration. The EX 500 rim is slightly heavier and wider than the XR series, but offers increased rim strength, making better better suited for often unpredictable free ride conditions. Rims come in black finish with 32- or 36-hole count and can easily be converted for tubeless applications with the DT Swiss XR Tubeless Kit.
