Continental Grand Prix 4000S Clincher Tire

The Continental Grand Prix 4000S clincher is similar to the GP 4000, but the "S" stands for sport, special and "schwarz," the German word for black to describe the all black sidewall (with silver lettering). The GP 4000 S is fast and sticky, thanks to its state of the art Black Chili rubber compound.

The Grand Prix 4000 uses Vectran, a liquid crystal polymer that is light, flexible and strong. NASA has used it in the construction of both space shuttles and suits. Continental has patented its use in bike tires, which allows their tires to remain extremely light, while offering tremendous puncture protection.
