Chris King rear tandem hubs have wider axle spacing than the regular Classic road hubs and these lightweight, high performance hubs can stand up to the abuse of two riders. The hub has the Chris King ultra-stiff 19.5mm axle with a constant diameter from the bearings to the dropouts. Available for rim-brake and disc brake tandems.
Chris King's rear tandem hubs utilize the RingDrive engagement mechanism, which uses 72 teeth on each drive ring to allow drive forces to engage three times quicker than the standard 24-tooth pawl-style freehub. This patented mechanism is the source of the classic Chris King freewheel sound. All hubs feature the legendary King stainless steel sealed bearings and are 100% manufactured in Portland, Oregon.
Rear tandem hubs are available in three axle lengths: 140mm, 145mm, and 160mm.
- 140mm: available in Classic Rear or Universal Disc Rear hubshell. Quick release axle only.
- 145mm: available in Classic Rear or Universal Disc Rear hubshell. Has heavy duty, one piece ultra strong axle. Comes standard with a QR axle, Fun Bolts are optional.
- 160mm: uses the King SingleSpeed hubshell. Has heavy duty, one piece ultra strong axle. Comes standard with a QR axle, Fun Bolts are optional.
