Sapim's original Polyax aluminum nipples have a rounded profile, which allows up to 9 degrees of rotation for improved spoke alignment and durability.
Aluminum nipples have about one-third the mass of a brass nipple for weight savings at the rim/spoke interface.
Wheelbuilder does not recommend using alloy nipples in wet or salty environments due to their limited corrosion resistance.
